Gerlinde Kehlenbach

Gerlinde Kehlenbach is the founding board member of The Cancer Support Community Southern Connecticut.  She was diagnosed with both breast and kidney cancer in 2003-2004 and was treated with chemotherapy and radiation. She spent some time at The Wellness Community in Southwest Florida and was so inspired by their work, she is determined to do all she can to help The Cancer Support Community Southern Connecticut “Open Their Doors.” Gerlinde became a Registered Nurse in 1963 and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1979 from Western Connecticut State University.  In 1981 she received a Masters in Public Health from Yale University and in 1982 became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the state of Connecticut.  Gerlinde has worked in the Health Care field for over 40 years.  She has been an RN in hospitals, day care centers and long term care facilities.  She has taught at the college level in the Nursing Laboratory, and has been an Inservice Director in Nursing Homes.  She worked for Apple Health Care, a Connecticut Long Term Care Provider as a Nursing Home Administrator and then became a consultant for them.  Gerlinde is very dedicated to this organization and brings a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to it.
