Loreen M. Brown, Chair

Loreen graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with a BS in Biology and from The Catholic University of America with a Masters in Social Work, Policy, Planning and Administration.  Currently, as Vice President of Access & Reimbursement Consulting at Xcenda in Palm Harbor, FL, Loreen works to assist her clients to maximize patient access to healthcare therapies, many of which are in the oncology space.  As such, she sees and understands the importance and the need for emotional support for patients and their loved ones affected by a cancer diagnosis.  Throughout her career in the pharmaceutical industry, she has focused her efforts on ensuring patient access and reimbursement for patients in need.  Previously, Loreen worked as a social worker at a public health clinic in Washington, DC and also completed a Fellowship in Senator Paul Sarbanes’ office, where she concentrated on policies and legislation related to healthcare and education.  These experiences, as well as the loss of relatives and close friends to cancer, have moved Loreen to dedicate her spare time to helping bring the Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut, so those affected by this disease may have a comfortable, peaceful and dependable sanctuary during a time of great uncertainty.  Loreen currently resides in Madison, CT with her husband, Ray, and their children, Luke, Jake and Lucy.
