Robert Breunig, Vice Chair

Bob graduated from Bucknell University with a BS in Management and a concentration in Accounting in 1988.  He currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Synapse Group, Inc. (“Synapse”) and QSP, Inc. (“QSP”), two subsidiaries of the publishing division of Time Warner.  Synapse Group and QSP are two of the largest magazine subscription agents in the United States providing marketing and fundraising programs to both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.  Bob joined Synapse Group in 1999 as Vice-President of Finance and was responsible for building the Company’s finance group, while helping the company transition from a private company to a division of Time Warner.   In 2006, he was named Chief Financial Officer and serves as a member of the Company’s management team.  In 2011, Bob was named Chief Financial Officer of QSP, which is responsible for providing magazine fundraising programs for schools and other not-for-profit organizations in the United States and Canada.

Bob’s involvement in non-profits began when he was in college as he helped fund raise, organize and run various Special Olympic events.  He later became involved with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program where he was a Big Brother and won an award for Big Brother of the Year.

He has now joined the Cancer Support Community Southern Connecticut to leverage his personal and professional experiences to build something that will benefit the greater New Haven communities for years to come.

Bob lives in Shelton with his wife and three children.
