Open Our Doors!

Connecticut deserves a place where community and resources come together to give patients and survivors, family and friends and loved ones, people of all ages who have been touched by cancer the support that they need, free of charge.

The top priority of the Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut is to open a facility where we can provide our unique (and internationally recognized) program of emotional and social support for those affected by cancer in our region.

To launch and operate that facility, CSC-SCT has launched a $3.5 million fundraising campaign, and is currently seeking gifts and pledges to Open Our Doors.

CSC-SCT is expects to be able to serve its members with an annual budget that averages $600,000 per year over its first five years, and seeks an additional reserve of $500,000 to provide stability for all programs and unanticipated events during our critical startup phase.

All donations to the Open Our Doors campaign will be used toward current and future expenses related to opening and running a fully licensed affiliate of the Cancer Support Community, as mandated by national headquarters and deemed appropriate by our local Board of Directors.

Gifts of any size are welcomed. As cancer so devastatingly proves, the smallest cell can make all the difference. If you want to explore ways to turn your passion for our cause into meaningful impact on our efforts, please contact us.

Donors who can make gifts of $25,000 and up, payable as single gift or a five year pledge, will be recognized as Founders of CSC-SCT. Our gratitude to these generous visionaries can never be adequately expressed, but we will be delighted to celebrate their contributions to our community with naming opportunities, program sponsorships, and permanent display on a Founders plaque placed prominently in our facility.
